The Shoeburyness Heritage Centre

Southend Borough Council is currently working with local interest groups to establish a heritage centre in the former Battery Gun Shed at Gunners' Park to interpret the military and environmental history of the area. Detailed plans for the building are being drawn up and will be presented at a public consultation in the next couple of months. At that time, a management committee will be formed, who will take the project forward to provide a superb educational study and research facility for South Essex.

Wickford Photos

The Wickford Community Archive group are compiling an archive of material relating to Wickford and its surrounds. The archive will be kept at Wickford Library, but it is hoped that much of the material will be digitised and will be made available via the internet.

If anyone has any documents or photographs of Wickford that they would like to donate to the archive, please contact Wickford Library.
